Thandie Newton and her daughter Nico Parker co-ordinated in opulent velvet dresses as they walked the red carpet together at the premiere of Tim Burton’s live action Disney remake of Dumbo. Held at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on March 11, the film sees Parker take up her very first acting endeavour as she plays the character of Milly Farrier.
Newton wore a red velvet Oscar de la Renta dress which draped to one side and matching sandals. Parker, also opted for the rich material in a green Gucci dress, with a pale pink bow tied at the waist.
Directed by Tim Burton and due for UK release on March 29, the film stars Eva Green and Colin Farrell in the animated remake, which recounts the tale of two children who care for a young elephant with huge ears.
Angelina Jolie and four of her six children – Zahara Marley, Shiloh Nouvel, Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Léon – also made an appearance at the event. Although Jolie doesn’t star in the film, she will reprise her role as Maleficent in Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil in October this year.
